Roy Paul's speaking up...

Roy Paul sent a letter to the opinion section of the Times Herald, it's a great piece:

Students are the future of America. We are so concerned about the very real need to get a job and make money, it seems no one has the time to think of global affairs until a war breaks out or we are terrorized upon our own soil. Are we more concerned with what film to see on Friday night?

Politics isn't a cool topic to discuss at the cafeteria lunch table. Maybe, just maybe, it's because politics requires you to think and then think some more. In any event, young adults are not being challenged to get involved in the political process or to be aware of issues that in some way or another affect the way they live their lives. Sending letters to the newspaper is a great way to spread ideas and get your voice heard. And it's a relatively easy thing to do. Thanks Roy!

Stop Bush from escalating into Iran!

Good Day everyone!

I just signed a petition to ask Congress to demand President Bush seek congressional authorization before considering military action in Iran. President Bush is out of control, and we have to stop the war in Iraq from escalating into a regional crisis. Congress can do this, but they need to hear from us.

Iraq Discussion

Thanks to all of the SPAC members who showed up for the talks on Iraq. Things got heated there for a moment to say the least.
I would like to keep the debate going here. Please add your comments, thoughts, opinions, or gripes to tell everyone what you think about the "situation" in Iraq as well as the rest of the War on Terror.

I think the meeting should be changed to Tuesday at 11 am. It would be better for my schedule since I have senate meetings on Thurs at 11am. Also some senators are interested in joining but they wouldn't be able to make the meetings b/c of the time. Would it be any better for anyone else? let me know... Joseph P. Candela II

Todd, thanks for help at the table today. It was tough at times keeping the crowds at bay but we made it.

I just came from the Club Fair where we got an amazing response from everyone who visited our table.

So what's next for SPAC???

Well, we're looking to get a speaker to come to campus before Finals (two weeks away).

And were also planning a trip to DC on April12th-15th.

Also, we've switched our meeting times to once every two weeks.
The next meeting is today.

The election night party was big hit. Thanks to all who came and especially those that contributed all the goodies. We've done alot in our little time as a club here at SUNY Orange, let's keep it up!
